Vintage Denim Stockings with Mariah Palmer

60.00

This is a great class for anyone interested in an entry level sewing class. We will be using vintage denim to create holiday stockings.

When:

Thursday, December 6th 6:30-8:30pm

Where:

The Wilder Textile Art Studio in the Emerson Suite 107a

About the Class:

We’re all about finding ways to consume less and get creative with what we already have, or can find at our local thrift store! These denim stockings will add some some fun and unexpected flair to your holiday decor. Learn the basics of sewing and how to work a basic craft sewing machine. You will leave with one completed stocking as well as two paper patterns, one small and one large so that you can go home and create stockings for the whole family! All the materials will be provided. However, feel free to bring your own fabric if you have something special you’d like to add.

About the Teacher:

Mariah is the owner of Wilder Goods and has a background in textile arts with a BA in Clothing, Textiles and Design from the University of Idaho. Over the years she has experimented with design in many mediums, including fiber dyeing and printing, metalsmithing, sewing, web and graphic design and more. Currently, she runs Wilder Studio + Goods and makes her own line of fiber and clay jewelry.
