A perfect workshop for those who have been wanting to learn to knit, or those who already can and would enjoy a fast, simple, and pretty project.

When:

Saturday, December 8th 2-5pm

Where:

The Wilder Textile Art Studio in the Emerson Suite 107a

About the Class:

Each participant will knit a wear-with-everything, cozy kerchief scarf.

Natalie Brown, a local writer, metalsmith (you may have seen her Milk and Roses jewelry), and hobby knitter for 20 years, will be teaching knitting fundamentals to beginners and helping students to craft their kerchiefs.

Please bring 1 skein (or 110 yards) of Medium Worsted Weight yarn in the color and fiber of your choice.

—and—

1 set of straight knitting needles, 10-to-14 inches long, in the size recommended on your yarn label. (For example, 10”-long needles in a size US 7).

Patterns will be provided, along with basic knitting instructions for students to take home.

About the Teacher:

Natalie is an author and artist. As a writer, she deals with intangibles: images and emotions that live in the mind and heart. As a crafter, she loves the near-instant gratification that comes from creating tactile, keepsake objects with her hands. She is the designer and metalsmith behind Milk and Roses Jewelry, and a longtime knitter who is happily addicted to the soft, soothing, meditative magic worked by needles and yarn. Find her at @rose.demaris & @milk.and.roses.jewelry
